Live In Domestic Couple - Gloucestershire, UK

Our client, a family of 2 adults and 4 children aged from 8 to 16, are looking for a domestic couple to work at their beautiful holiday, home-from-home, property situated within a 6 mile distance of Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds - this is an area of outstanding beauty and desirable location to live.

The family live much of the year abroad, and use the property for family holidays and breaks. This typical stone-build property, includes a main house along with converted coach house and stables, that incorporate a self-contained, staff 2-bedroom accommodation. Along with gym, guest rooms and pool house.

There are 2 full-time Gardeners employed along with an Estate Manager, and the family will travel with a Chef when making longer visits. They will also employ extra help for very busy periods.

The responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Housekeeping: Daily cleaning and Spring/deep cleaning, while maintaining the appropriate presentation of the house

  • Plant care: maintaining house plants and arranging cut flowers during visits

  • Laundry: washing, ironing, pressing and steaming along with linen and wardrobe care

  • Kitchen: Maintaining kitchen stores, some light cooking when chef is not accompanying the family

  • Handyman/woman: keeping an eye on basic maintenance chores, changing lightbulbs, etc.

  • Fireplaces: cleaning grates, making fires, keeping adequate dry wood for burning

  • Outdoor Work: maintaining the upkeep of patios and terraces, jet washing outside hard surfaces, keeping garden furniture covered and clean, with cushion covered laundered as needed

  • Vehicles Management: maintaining, cleaning, keeping charged, turning over engines, ensuring tax and overseeing servicing etc.

  • Pets: Walking 2 dogs & feeding 2 micro Pigs (which are no longer micro)!!

The property is rural, so applicants must both drive. The role would suit am experienced couple who are familiar with working in a stylish family home, who have the innate ability to care for their employer’s home as if it were their own, and who can think on their feet and relish living in this beautiful rural environment.
