A weekend Cook/Housekeeper is required to work every weekend, as well as 3 days during the week completing a 5 day week, working in a fully-staffed Private Household, managed like a small Boutique Hotel. There will also be the need for minimal travel to France and Switzerland.
Cooking Duties will only be required on weekends, and will require the preparation and cooking of simple, well-prepared, healthy and nutritious meals, using the freshest organic and premium grade ingredients available, for a family of 3.
In addition to cooking, the cook will be required to shop each day at Whole Foods. prepare the ingredients and cook to order and maintain the kitchen in a spotless and hygienic state at all times.
Typical menus will include: cottage or shepherd's pie, composite and simple salads, grilled vegetables. chicken or beef satay, steak and chips, a traditional roast Sunday lunch with all the trimmings etc.
The family have a list of firm favourite dishes, and follow diets, so the cooks needs to be relied upon to follow recipes carefully and precisely. Note: there is a chef who works Monday to Friday who can give detailed guidance on all the dishes and recipes that the family enjoy.
For the other 3 days, the role includes supporting the Housekeeping team with a wide range of housekeeping and general household tasks.
The Cook / Housekeeper will be expected to work with all members of the team, so they can deliver the highest levels of hospitality services to the Principals, Family and Guests. This a busy household and the ability to work to high standards is absolutely essential.
The role requires a solid commitment to work 5-days, including weekends, with a total of 50 hours a week.
Candidates must be flexible and adaptable to change;
Must be available to work every weekend and some Bank Holidays;
Must be available to travel for short trips abroad;
Candidates Must already work and live in London.
