An experienced housekeeper is required for a privately owned sporting lodge and estate, in the Scottish lowlands. The estate is headed by a House Manager, and employs a Butler, Head Housekeeper and daily housekeepers. When the house is occupied a chef is also employed.
The Lodge is used by the family and is always very busy through the sporting seasons, when frequent and numerous guests are hosted. When the house is busy, extra hours will be required from all the house-staff.
The Lodge is of a significant size, is run on a formal basis and is maintained to the highest standard. The position involves hands-on housekeeping duties which requires a housekeeper who is confident in caring for antiques, hard and soft finishes, delicate fabrics, artwork and fine crystal and china. During the time that the family are not in residence, the property needs to be maintained in a state of readiness, allowing for family/guests to arrive at short notice.
The Housekeeper must be happy to work as part of a team, and under the direction of the Head Housekeeper who will be responsible for providing training etc. The housekeeper is to ensure correct standards and practices are always maintained. A well-ordered routine will be developed for daily tasks during family visits, and an in-depth program to include specific tasks when the Lodge is unoccupied.
This is a role for a practical, hands-on person with at least 4 years experience. It will be based on 45 hours a week, more when the family are in residence, but hours given back when the family are not in residence Self-contained 1 bedroom cottage or apartments are provided, and all bills/ services are found. Car driver is essential. Must be a non smoker, have a clean driving licence, and you be willing to undertake a DBS/Police Check. Salary £16,000 gross pa DOE. Email your resume to email@example.com
