An experienced housekeeper is required for a privately owned sporting lodge and estate, situated in the Lowlands of Scotland. The estate is headed by a house manager, and employs a butler and daily housekeepers. When the house is occupied a chef is also employed.
The Lodge is used by the family and is always very busy through the sporting seasons, when frequent and numerous guests are hosted. When the house is busy, extra hours will be required from all the house-staff.
The Lodge is of a significant size, is run on a formal basis and is maintained to the highest standard. The position involves hands-on housekeeping duties which requires a housekeeper who is confident in caring for antiques, hard and soft finishes, delicate fabrics, artwork and fine crystal and china. During the time that the family are not in residence, the property needs to be maintained in a state of readiness, allowing for family/guests to arrive at short notice.
The housekeeper is required to manage, supervise, train and work alongside a small team of household staff, ensuring correct standards and practices are always maintained. A well-ordered routine will need to be developed for daily tasks during family visits and an in-depth program to include specific tasks when the Lodge is unoccupied.
This is a role for a practical, hands-on person with at least 4 years experience. Self contained accommodation can be provided on the estate. Must be a non smoker, have a clean driving licence as a vehicle will be available for work purposes, and be willing to undertake a DBS. Salary £27,000 to £30,000 DOE.
